Scientist II/Sr Scientist: Infectious Disease Research, Gram Negative
Antibodies Apply for Position #2068

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Work within
infectious disease research to design, develop, and execute in vitro and/or in
vivo studies, to characterize biologic therapies directed against gram-negative
bacterial pathogens, primarily Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Qualifications:
• Education: M.S. with 10-15 years or PhD
with 5-10 year post-degree experience in microbiology, or related
discipline. Must have strong
Pharma/BioPharma industrial work experience
• Multiple
years of relevant laboratory experience in animal model development and evaluation
of therapeutics preferred.
• Requires
a well-grounded critical thinker who can design and implement in vitro
(opsonophagocytosis, direct killing, etc.) and in vivo (survival, bacteremia,
organ burder, focal infection, etc.) studies to assess the anti-bacterial
potential of biologics (primarily antibodies).
• Experience
with relevant antibody-based techniques (e.g., FACS, cell-based ELISAs,
opsonophagocytosis) and mechanisms of host innate immunity preferred. This
individual must be dedicated to maintaining high laboratory standards with
regard to quality and safety, and must possess good organization, record
keeping and communication skills.
